What can you find in Fiji that you won't find anywhere else?
Fiji's islands, with their white sand beaches and volcanic peaks coated in lush tropical vegetation draw surfers and divers from around the world, as well as those merely happy to chill out in idyllic surroundings at some of the world's best hotels. Original Travel, sister company Original Diving and Tim Simond (author of best-selling dive guide Dive in Style) have chosen their favourites from the many outstanding hotels on offer, including what is, in our humble opinion, possibly the finest private island resort in the world.
So what to do once you arrive in your own personal paradise? Enjoy first class service and drop dead beautiful surroundings, but also superb diving. Fiji is known as the soft coral capital of the world, but there is some spectacular hardware as well. Many of the best dives have huge hard corals of all descriptions - brain, plate, star, finger - waiting to impress, and all surrounded by thousands upon thousands of orange and blue anthias fish.
Sonsoma is generally considered the best dive spot, but thanks to its pristine reef, Wakaya is arguably the next finest diving in all of Fiji. And while diving is the definite highlight at Wakaya, over the water at Laucala the mission statement is simple - to create the best billionaire playground imaginable. They haven't done a bad job.
